Viktoria Katsumi Kimball, Child of Ares

So...this is my OC from the Percy Jackson Universe, Viktoria Katsumi Kimball!! I gave her a bio, because I wanted to enter in a group about the Percy Jackson Universe, and I actually found entertaining to give little Viktoria a story and a past. Really, When I write about my OC, it's like I discover their story with them. I try to plan everything and to be coherent, but the truth is, even I don't know where their story will lead them...I just find fascinating the fact that they grow, mature and developed, just like us!

Basics

Name: Viktoria Katsumi Kimball.

Meaning: Viktoria (Victory);Katsumi (War;Beauty; ) Kimball (Leader of the Warriors);

Age: 15 years old (during the Lost Hero);

Ethnicity: Japanese.

Birthplace: Kilauea, Kauai Island, Hawaii (USA).

Current Residence: Camp HalfBlood (during the summer time); Kilauea (during the rest of the year).

Height: 1.45m/4’5’’

Weight: 42 kg/ 92 lbs.

Blood Type: O+.

Birthday: 23rd March.

Zodiac: Aries.

Eye Color: Deep Blue (during the dark hours, due to the dim lights, the pupils enlarge and they seems black, but it’s just the pupil, because the iris is so thin, it can be barely seen).

Hair Color: Black, long, wavy.

Physical Description (be at least a little detailed): She’s rather petite for a 15-year-old girl, with a small breasts and small hips. Her skin is pale, and she has a lot of freackles on her nose and cheeks. She has a puffy face, big almond-shaped eyes, thin, wavy hair, straight nose with a flattened tip. She’s slim and thin, but her physique is more child-like than a teenage-like, and ,because of this, she appears a bit younger then she really is (she looks almost 12 years old). Viktoria is not muscular, but she keeps in shape by biking and doing archery with her dad. She’s definitely weak for being an Ares’ Child.

Extra: Viktoria’s first name was Katsumi, during the first year of her life. When she was adopted by her step-dad, Captain Vincent Kimball, he thought that Katsumi Kimball was quite mouthful, and decided with Misaki to give her more a normal name, hence Viktoria. Katsumi has became her middle name.

Personality

Good Traits: Viktoria is a very hard-working girl, and she isn’t afraid of getting tired or dirty, in order to fulfill her tasks and to obtain what she wants. because of her strict education, she’s really realistic, (she has never believed to Santa Claus, for example, because her parents told her the truth since she was little); She’s a proud girl, but she doesn’t like to show off. Always a reliable girl, when one of her friends asks her a favour, she would give her word of honour that she would put all her effort in doing such a favour. She’s polite and formal, and she’s loyal: when she decide to give her trust to a friend, she will be always loyal to him/her. She’s quite smart and strategic and when it comes to war strategy, she loves to thinks things through. She’s very independent, and if it wasn’t for her being always aloof and distant, she would have some good leadership skills. Generally, she’s a respectful young lady, except during her outburst of rage.

Flaws: Viktoria can be quite aloof, and distant, because she tends to be always on herself, and she isn't easy to approach. She’s proud and stubborn as hell, and when she believes in something, she wouldn’t change her mind. She’s completely indifferent about things or problems that do not concern her family, her friends or herself, and , if not ordered(or unless they tickles her curiosity), she would not take action to solve those problems. She has a short temper, and it’s easy for her to get mad: when she does, she become quite unbearable. She lacks of negotiating skills, because of her short temper. Also, she’s quite touchy about herself and her family, and she expect others to behave in a respectful way. She’s a loner, and doesn’t really trust anyone, except her step-dad and her mom, and her friends Kelen and Skyler. When mad, she’s vindictive and impish. She has the tendency of judging others’ people behavior, using her own behavior as a meter of judgement, and because of this she can be quite strict, unforgivable, and unbearable. She has the tendency of behaving politely, but this doesn’t mean she’s either kind or docile. When she comes to senses again, and she calm down, she always feels ashamed of her behavior, and she always promise to herself to try to be more calm and reasonable (even if this is one of the few promises she’s not able to fulfill. She tries, but she always fail). She has a bit too much of self-esteem, and sometimes she overestimates herself, thinking that she can do anything by herself, rather than relying on other people’s help. When she gets mad, she became quite violent, and she would do things that she wouldn’t do, if calm.

Good Habits: Determined (when she starts something, she wants to get it done as fast and well as she can); She’s independent, and because of her education ,strict and formal, she knows how to behave in every situation. Viktoria is an organized young lady, punctual and likes to keep her personal space clean and tide up. She’s very respective of others’ proprierties, and when someone gives her something, she would handle it with carefulness. With her friends, ONLY with them, she is a good listener, and she is able to give good advices. She doesn't complain almost about anything, and she doesn't cry easily. Although she's not vain, she likes to keep herself in order, and even she's not into the last fashion, she likes to be dress properly, and she always respect dress codes.

Bad Habits: When mad, she has two phases : in the first one, she tends to yell, to curse, and to throw the first thing that comes in her hand , and she tends to say cruel things. In the second phase, she isolates herself from the rest of the world, and starts to think how she could make him/her pay (she can be quite impish in her way of taking revenge); She tends not to trust anyone, and she rather works solo. This particular aspect of her personality exasperates and insults the people who try to befriend with her. She tends to square you from your behavior, like an examinator, and if you not pass her judgment, she can become either indifferent toward you, or even mean. (it depends on the situations). When given an order or a task, she tends to be a bit too much focused on them, and she has a tendency to climb over anyone who is on the road (plus, to complete the task, she would do anything ; infact, the statement “ The ends justify the means” , from the book “Il Principe” by the Italian writer Niccolò Machiavelli, it’s one of her personal favourite.). She isn’t used to ask for forgiveness, even if she knows she’s wrong, and people would be seriously offended by this kind of behavior. She doesn’t like when others try to give her advices (except for her parents and closest friends), and she usually has the tendency of either ignoring the advice or coldy answering that she’s able of doing well by herself, without others’ interference. Though she doesn’t like to show this to others, she’s really jealous of the few friends she has, and because of this, she tends to be very territorial. Also, if fighting in team with someone she doesn’t care about, she would not care about him/her, and therefore Viktoria would not help him/her, if something bad happened, but she would rather keep fighting on her own.

Any weird habits?: When she’s nervous, she tends to pace around the camp and to talk to herself. During the night, she has a little light kept on, next to her bed, “to chase away the monster”, as her step-dad used to say when she was a baby.

Extra Habits: When pissed off and sad, she likes to isolate herself, and hum to herself her step-dad’s lullaby (though she’s actually out of tune, and she really isn’t able to sing at all, it helps to calm her down.).

Pet Peeves: Viktoria hates people that spent time crying about how poor their fate is and how unlucky they are; she also dislike people who complain and do nothing to change their fate; She hate rudeness, uncoherency and she definitely hates when people wants to give her advices: to her, it seems like they try to impose her their point of view. She hates when people mock her for her puffy face, calling her “Pinball”, instead of Kimball.

Fears: Snakes, dogs, bats, complete darkness, without any kind of light on, empty spaces. She’s deadly afraid of dolls: they just give her the skin crawls.

Favorite Food: She loves Cinnamon Rolls with glaze on them. If it was up to her, she would eat dozen of those pastries. They should start baking them at CHB. Seriously;

Favorite Drink: Coffee! Just wonderful, tasty Hawaiian Coffee with warm milk! She would drink it always!

Favorite Scent: She has a lot of scents she likes…but her most favourite ones are Coconut Oil and Hybiscus flower, the one she can smell at her home, in Kaua’i.

Favorite Movie: All the Resident Evil Saga: she loves Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice, and Viktoria has made her dad swear that, as soon as she reach the proper age, he will teach her to shoot with rifles.

Favorite Song: Dante’s Prayer by Loreena McKennitt and Over the Hills and Far Away (Nightwish Cover);

Favorite Band/Singer: Loreena McKennitt (she loves to hum her songs to herself, they help her to calm down); Nightwish (She loves to listen to them before any challenge, either at school or at the CHB).

Favorite Time of Year: Winter, and especially Christmas Time! (She loves to wear cozy and fluffy clothes, to sit near the fire and eat warm cinnamon roll with hot chocolate and marshmallow, but she’s able to experience this only during winter break, because , usually, her family goes to visit her paternal grandparents, who lives in Anchorage, Alaska.)

Favorite Time of Day: Dawn (she loves the fresh air, and the dew that you can see early in the morning. Plus, it’s seems like the sun erases the shadows of the night, and with them, all her fears. Plus, she hates sleeping!)

Best Subject (Camp): Archery. It’s also her favourite subject at the camp, and her favourite sport outside CHB).

Best Subject (School): Math (she actually enjoy calculate: it helps her keep her mind trained, even if sometimes she has an hard time concentrate because of her ADHD);

Worst Subject (Camp): Unarmed Combat (when she was little, her mother made her take lessons in Aikido and Judo but she really sucked at it, either for her lack of strength and her technique).

Worst Subject (School): English Literature. It’s so boring, plus she hates reading. She makes an exception only for the books about War History and Strategy her step-dad buys her.


Family/Friends

Mother: Misaki Satō, owner of a flower shop in Kilauea. Misaki is a full-blooded Japanese, and is a 1st generation American of Japanese parentage. Her family migrated from Kyoto to Honolulu when Misaki was just 3 years old, and she grew up in Honolulu. Viktoria loves her mother very, very much, and she’s always very protective of her mom, but their relationship is not the warmest one, and they tend to be quite formal to each other (this is caused especially by her mother’s education and culture). This means there wasn’t much kissing or hugging between them. But Viktoria knew that her mother has always cared about her, and has always loved her. Misaki is quite a pretentious mother: she has always expected her daughter to excel and be the best in everything, and Viktoria would do anything to please her mother’s expectations (hence, Viktoria’s names and their meanings: Misaki hoped they would be a good omen for her daughter).

Father: Ares, God of War. The feelings that Viktoria has toward her godly parent are quite mixed: since she had a very caring and sweet step-father, she has never felt lonely or with the urge of knowing the identity of her true father. After finding out that her father is Ares, she grows resentful and bloody mad at him : being the weakest Ares’ Child ever existited, she has a very hard time living in Cabin 5, as she has to keep up with all her half-brothers and especially her half-sister, Clarisse. Also, she hates the fact that she has to prove to him that she’s as strong as the other Ares’ Children, because he has never given a heck about her or her mother, so Viktoria feels like she owns him nothing at all.

Step-Parent: Captain Vincent Viktor Kimball is the step-father of Viktoria and the husband of Misaki, and he’s a caring and lovely step-father, with a great sense of honour and traditions. Though generally Viktoria has a lot of problem when it comes to relationships, the only exception to this is represented by Captain Kimball: she actually adores him and enjoys spending time with him every week-end (since Captain Kimball serves in the United State Pacific Fleet, with its headquartes located in Pearl Harbour, on the Island of Oahu, he’s able to come to back on Kaua’i only during the week-ends). Viktoria thinks she has a better relationship with her step-father than with her own mother, because even if Captain Kimball is expecting her to do her best as well, he’s not as unbearable as Viktoria’s mother. He has adopted Viktoria when she was 1 years old, and wanted to give her his surname: because of this, she considers him is truly father. During the week-ends, Captain Kimball takes his daughter to an archery field, where she can practice or they go to take a ride with their bikes on the mountains around their home. He was the one who discovered her attitude in the War Strategy, when she was 12 years old, while they were playing “Risk” together. Since then, he has paid great attention to her attitude and he has been thinking of convincing her to enter in the US Navy, once she has reached the proper age.

Siblings: Except for her half-siblings at Camp Half Blood, she has none.

Closest Friends (Camp): She has yet to make some friends to the camp, but she is in a good relationship with Viviana Nieminen , a daughter of Demeter and Charlotte Wagner, a daughter of Haephestus and an Hunter of Artemis. She deeply admires Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus. She is also friend with Skyler Capriolo, but she wishes they were more than friends.

Closest Friends (Outside): She has just one best friend, the one she can always rely on: Kelen Lorena LeBlanc, a sweet girl she knew when she was in Kindergarten, and the daughter of Captain Kimball’s collegue. They have always been together since they were young, and she really is the only one she would trust with her life.

Boy/Girlfriend: Viktoria actually doesn’t have a boyfriend, and she doesn’t like men in general, especially the bully and the self-centered one, (though she really, really loves her step-dad) but she has a huge (help me say HUGE) crush on a guy in the Apollo Cabin: Skyler Capriolo.

Past Relationships: Being only 15 years old, she hasn’t had the chance to have a boyfriend, also because she doesn’t wanted to be with anyone yet: she wants to be sure that, whoever she decides to give her heart, is the one that will always stay with her.

Battle

Weapon: She uses a Japanese bow (a Yumi), made of bamboo, with arrows that have celestial bronze on the tips. Through the Mist, the yumi looks like a shoulder bag, and the quiver look just like her jeans belt.

Style: Long Distance Combat, and a more strategic approach to the fighting (except when rage takes control of her).

Strengths: Viktoria, because of her being so petite and because she love riding her bike on the mountains with her step-dad, she has strong legs: this makes her quite swift, and an agile warrior. Also, it allows her to run quite fast. She has an excellent eyesight, which allows her to shoot from a great distance.

Weaknesses: Strangely for an Ares’Child, Viktoria doesn’t seem to have the enhanced strength that her half-brothers and her half-sister have. She’s rather weak, and this is a great source of embarrassment for her, especially because, before being recognized by Ares, she has thought to be an Apollo’s Child. Also she’s quite lame in bare-handed combat , and she cannot really use any kind of sword or dagger (it seems like she’s allergic to hand-weapons.) s all the Ares’ Children, she doesn’t really excel at it, and she prefers using her bow. She has the average strength of a 15 years old, 1.45 m tall girl, which isn’t a lot, and surely doesn’t help keep up with her half-siblings, much less an enemy or a monster. Even if she’s a fast runner, she has no endurance, and she tends to get tired quite soon. She lacks of attacking skills. Her being so short tempered makes her merciless and a bit too much bloodthirst in battle.

Abilities (if any): She has a good aiming, that applies not only to archery. That’s why, when she get mad, people tend to run away: when she start throwing things around, she usually catches whoever she is aiming.

Fatal Flaw: Her fatal flaw is considered to be Wrath. When she get mad, a savage, wild rage take her whole body, making her as furious ad a bull in the arena. It’s almost like she loses her mind, and she can’t focus anymore on anything except her wrath and who has insulted her or someone she loves. She charges blindly, attacking whoever is in her way, either friend or foe.


Background
Put a brief overview of their story:

Viktoria was born after Ares met her mother, Misaki Satō. They stayed together for only a month, and after that, Ares left Misaki without an explanation, disappearing. Though heartbroken, she came to the conclusion that Ares probably was an important man, and she was just a lover of his. When she found out she was pregnant with Viktoria, she decided to keep her, and to grow her baby on her own, considering her as a blessing rather than something born outside the wedding. Viktoria was born in Kilauea, and around the age of 1, her mother married an official of the US Navy, Captain Vincent Kimball. Due to him being infertile, and knowing he wouldn’t never have a child of his own, he decided to adopt little Viktoria, and together with Misaki, they decided to give her his last name. Since then, he has always considered and treated her as his own daughter, and he was really delighted when, at the age of 4, Viktoria asked him for toy soldier and war ships as toys to play with, instead of dolls. When she reached the age of 6, they enrolled her in a military school in Kilauea, but soon they learnt about Viktoria difficult personality. Her rage, even as a child, was something quite disturbing, and both of her parents started worrying about it. During one of her ourburst of rage, in which she bit a child on his arm, tearing his skin, she was expelled from the school. Her parents were really disappointed in her, but they were also concerned: if she was so violent at that young age, what would she become, once she would grow up? Afraid that she would do something bad to other and, eventually, put herself in danger, they decided of homeschooling her, almost to hide her from the rest of the world. This was, also, one of the reason Viktoria finds difficult to interact and to befriend with other kids: until 8th grade, she was always all by herself, and has never had the chance to compare herself with other kids, staying only in touch with her parents and her best friend (and sister-in-all-but-blood) from kindergarten, Kelen.

During all these years, Misaki tried to calm her child down, teaching her a way of controlling her blind rage ,and also made her take lesson of Aikido and Judo, disciplines that would help her canalize all her energies and anger; Unfortunately, this was another cause of anger for Viktoria, because all the other kids were stronger than she was, and would mock her from time to time for being so little that she should have been in kindergarten. (Usually it would end up with Viktoria getting sourly mad, and bitting and kicking all kids around). It was Captain Kimball that found a way to calm her: when she gets badly mad, all her step-dad needed was to sing her a lullaby he invented for her when she was a toddler, and she calms down. That worked for a while, and around age 10, she seemed to be calmer. Also, it was always Captain Kimball that learnt about his daughter’s aptitude toward wargaming, archery and war strategy.

Her parents decided to give it another try, and enrolled her in 6thth grade, hoping she will find some friends and she will finishes her studies. But it was during that period that things really went bad. Once in school, she started noticing strange things, like the Chemistry teacher who “accidentally” slept a becker of acid on her (but she swore he did it on purpose; plus, nobody noticed he had only one eye!) or the fact that she once saw one of the teacher with hooves instead of feet, or that once, during PE, they went on the beach, to take surf lessons and she was almost drowned by a siren! (she swore there was an evil woman who tried to drown her, but the Mist made it seems like she passed out! As if!).
It was always in 6thth grade that a satyr found her, and explained her that she was a demigod and decided to transfer her to Camp Half Blood.

Though at the beginning she refused to go there, because she loved being in Hawai’I, and she couldn’t bear to leave her family and her only friend Kelen, she was convinced by her parents to go, so she would find out who her father is. Before leaving, her parents gave her a little Lilo & Stitch light, to plug in next to her bed, during the night, so she wouldn’t be afraid of darkness. Then she left for CHB, though ,after finding out her godly parent was Ares, she decided to stay there only during the summer, and to come home for the rest of the year.
